Laura Haid

For over twenty years, Laura Haid has focused her career on people: developing their skills, connecting them with others, and creating communities they want to remain part of.

Ms. Haid spent 16 years with the YMCA of Greater Charlotte, one of the largest and most respected Y associations in the country. She joined as a Membership Director and was promoted to Regional Executive Director, overseeing six locations and more than 200 staff members. Along the way, she served as Associate Executive Director of Membership at the Siskey YMCA and as Executive Director of the Brace Family YMCA, where she led branch operations, board development, and community partnerships. She increased the branch’s revenue to a record level and maintained full staff retention during a major construction period.

Before the Y, she held leadership positions in the private health club industry, including Peak Fitness. She started her career as a classroom teacher, an experience that continues to influence how she coaches and develops the people around her.

Ms. Haid earned her B.A. in Sociology and Elementary Education from Le Moyne College, where she played Division II college tennis. She has competed in several triathlons, including two full Ironmans, and remains an enthusiastic runner. She and her husband, Chris, live in Charlotte with their German Shepherd and enjoy spending time at the lake, water skiing, and paddleboarding.

At Alumni Forum Services, Ms. Haid focuses on improving the member experience and retention, making peer forums truly transformative for the leaders who participate.
